COMMUNITY ACCESS

Support and services that individuals with disabilities receive to help them participate in the community and access community resources. This may include assistance with transportation, support to access community events and activities, and support to access education and employment opportunities. Community access services are important as they help individuals with disabilities to build connections and relationships within their community, and to live an independent life. These services are designed to be flexible and tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual.

PERSONAL CARE

This type of support can include assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility. Personal care support is intended to help individuals with disabilities maintain their independence and dignity, and to improve their quality of life. It is an essential service that is provided by trained carers and/or support workers who work closely with the individual to understand their unique needs and preferences.

CAPACITY BUILDING

Capacity building for people with disabilities refers to the process of providing individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to live an independent and fulfilling life. This can include building skills in areas such as communication, self-care, personal finance, and community participation. The ultimate goal of capacity building is to empower individuals with disabilities to make informed choices, to take control of their own lives, and to fully participate in their community. This type of support is particularly important for individuals with disabilities because they often face additional barriers to achieving their goals, such as lack of access to information, social isolation and discrimination.

Happy Family

SHORT TERM ACCOMADATION/RESPITE

The goal of disability respite is to give caregivers a break from their caregiving responsibilities, allowing them to rest, recharge, and attend to other aspects of their lives. This can include time for self-care, pursuing hobbies, or spending time with friends and family. Disability respite can also provide opportunities for the individual with a disability to socialize and engage in activities outside of the home. It can be a valuable resource for caregivers, helping to reduce stress and improve their overall well-being.
